Education, Communication & Care For the Deaf

Masaka School for Children with Special Needs (Masaka SNE) is an educational establishment devoted to the education of profoundly deaf and hearing-impaired children at the Pre-Primary and Primary education levels. Our curriculum emphasizes vocational training skills aimed at giving the children the skills they need for independent living and employment.

  • Over 800 deaf children have so far obtained formal education & vocational skills training.
  • 82 candidates have completed their primary education & sat PLE exams, 16 have progressed and completed S.4. Of these, 10 have completed S.6 and 6 have gone all the way to University.
  • Currently, there are 122 pupils in the school from nursery to P 7
  • The school employs 25 people including 15 teachers.

To enable children who are deaf and hard of hearing to live a meaningful life in the future by providing them with education and equipping them with essential life skills.

VISION

To create a safe learning environment that allows children and young people of the deaf community to break the world of silence and learn sign language as well as vocation skills for future independent living and self-employment.
